Tax-Ready Financial Statements Cumming, GA

Overview

Tax-ready financial statements in Cumming, GA mean your CPA opens one PDF and starts on the return, instead of opening a mess and starting an invoice for cleanup. We close out the year, reconcile every account, and package the reports your preparer actually asks for.

Overview

Year-end packages typically include a profit and loss, balance sheet, general ledger, fixed asset listing, loan amortization schedules, and a 1099 vendor report. Everything is delivered in PDF and Excel, with QuickBooks accountant access if your preparer wants to verify a number directly inside the file.

Process

Pair this with year-end bookkeeping and 1099 form preparation for a complete tax season handoff. Many of our Cumming clients also use this service the year they switch CPAs. The new preparer gets a clean starting point instead of inheriting somebody else’s shortcuts, and the relationship starts on a much better note.

Details

If you only call us once a year, that is fine too. Most one-time tax-ready engagements wrap inside three to six weeks depending on how far behind the file is. We will quote it as a fixed scope after a quick diagnostic.

01

What goes into a tax-ready package

A tax-ready package is the set of documents your CPA or EA opens to start preparing your return. At minimum: a final P&L for the year, a final balance sheet as of December 31, a general ledger detail report, a fixed asset listing with current depreciation, loan amortization schedules for every note, and a 1099 vendor summary for the 1099 form preparation step.

For S-corp and partnership returns, we also include a reconciliation of distributions and contributions, a basis tracking summary if we have been maintaining it, and any K-1 supporting detail your preparer typically asks for. For sole-prop and Schedule C filers, we add an owner draws and contributions summary so the equity section ties out clean.

Everything is delivered in a single PDF binder organized by tab, plus the underlying Excel exports your preparer can drop into their software. If the CPA wants live QuickBooks accountant access, we set that up the same week.

02

What it looks like when books are not tax-ready

Your CPA opens the file and finds undeposited funds totaling more than the actual bank balance. Owner draws are sitting in expense categories. The fixed asset register has not been updated in two years. The reconciliations stop in August. The 1099 vendors do not have W-9s on file. None of these are uncommon, and every one of them turns into either a billable cleanup project from the CPA, an extension, or both.

For Cumming small business owners, the unfortunate part is that the cleanup work usually costs more done by the CPA on a billable hourly basis than it would cost done by a bookkeeping firm in advance. Tax-ready financial statements are the cheaper, faster, lower-stress path to the same destination.

03

Working with your existing CPA in Cumming

We coordinate with most CPA and EA firms in Cumming, Forsyth County, and the broader Atlanta north metro. Most preparers have their own preferred handoff format (some want PDFs, some want QuickBooks accountant access, some want both, some want a specific Excel template), and we adapt to each one. If you do not have a preparer yet, we have referrals.

We also offer a pre-tax-season handoff call if your preparer wants one. Fifteen minutes on Zoom to walk through the package, flag any unusual transactions, and answer questions before the preparer dives in saves hours of email back-and-forth later. Most CPAs love this.

04

Pricing and timing

For monthly bookkeeping clients, the tax-ready package is included as part of the year-end close. No extra charge.

For one-time tax-ready engagements (clients who do their own books all year and just want a clean year-end package), pricing is a fixed quote based on the file diagnostic, typically $1,200 to $4,500 depending on how far behind the file is and how much cleanup is needed before the package can be assembled.

Best time to start: November or early December. By then we can spot any cleanup issues, finish them in December, close the year cleanly in January, and get the package to your CPA by mid-February when their workload is still manageable. Wait until April and you are filing extensions.

FAQ

Common questions about tax-ready financial statements in Cumming, GA

Are tax-ready financial statements the same as tax preparation?
No. Tax-ready means the books are clean, reconciled, and packaged so a tax preparer can do the return efficiently. Tax preparation is the actual return filing (Form 1040, 1120-S, 1065, etc.), which is done by a CPA or EA. We do tax-ready bookkeeping; we partner with CPAs and EAs in Cumming for the actual return filing. We also offer business tax preparation through our partnership network for clients who want one firm to handle both.
What if my books are a year behind?
That is a bookkeeping catch up project first, then tax-ready financials on top. We will quote both as a single fixed-scope engagement so you see the full cost up front. Most catch-up plus tax-ready engagements wrap inside four to eight weeks depending on volume and complexity.
Do you give my CPA direct access to QuickBooks?
Yes, with your written permission. QuickBooks Online has a dedicated Accountant role that gives your preparer read-only or full access without consuming a paid user seat. We set this up at year end and remove it after filing if you prefer.
Can you handle multiple entities or partnerships?
Yes. Many Cumming small business owners run multiple LLCs (an operating company plus a real estate holding entity is the most common pattern). We prepare a separate tax-ready package for each entity, plus inter-company reconciliations if money moves between them.
What if my preparer asks for something unusual?
They almost certainly will, and we will produce it. Common requests: a depreciation schedule in a specific format, a reconciliation of book vs. tax basis, a summary of meals and entertainment categorized by deductibility, a related-party transaction summary. None of these are special; they just take a few extra hours to pull cleanly.
